For some strange, inexplicable reason, ever since the Blog Against Theocracy, I have occasionally dropped in on the blog of one of its most vociferous opponents, Dakota Voice. His latest incoherent rantings against evolutionary theory and almost perverse love affair with Ken Ham's Creationist Museum makes me think of...well, a puppy or kitten that has been mauled by a large dog and is, in its own significant way, seeking a higher power to help rescue it. This is clearly a man who has never read anything but Answers In Genesis...it's no wonder he feels a misplaced sense of power now that the Creation Museum has opened up to support him. As another blogger recently opined..."And on the 8th day God created a Creation Museum to back Him up"....
However, I really should point out that Dakota Voice is much more intuitive than he realizes. His concern over the state of Christianity today is pretty much on the mark. In spite of the surficial appearance of Christian domination of our society I suspect we are actually witnessing the beginnings of its decline. It will take some time, but it will come. Part of what will fuel it is that, ultimately, the "thinking" populace will have to reject Dakota Voice's version of Christianity because it requires casting off intellect in favor of blind obedience to positions like those represented in Ken Ham's Creation Museum. And there will be no "retribution" as Dakota Voice envisions...his Christ is impotent.

Actually, science hasn't taught us that at all. The theories of men who are desperate to escape accountability to God and have interpreted scientific evidence as supporting naturalistic and materialistic causes have taught us that. Science and naturalism are two different things, and what is being taught in most schools and propagated by the "mainstream" media is naturalism, not science.

I love that you're still thinking about Blog against Theocracy. We're gonna do it again (you are first on the block to hear of it) over July 4 week. I'll keep you posted.
And I love this post. As a (hopefully) thinking believer in Jesus and a higher power I am so saddened by those who say they follow Jesus and are obviously motivated by fear, particularly fear of losing power. Another wise blogger pointed out that the theocracy debate is not about religion at all, it is about power and who has it and who can be controlled.
